Canada. historical question?

Back in the day, most Canadians were French and they believed they would have a better chance of saving their culture and language under British rule then American rule. That's not to say Canada never revolted against Britain. There were two separate Rebellions in 1837-1838. One in Upper Canada (now Ontario) and one in Lower Canada (now Quebec).
