Is this not the stupidest excuse you have ever heard? Roommate/renting question, animal lover.?

My roommate has been complaining about the people who live in our duplex below us. They park in her parkin, but there is plenty of street to park on. When she goes downstairs to do her laundry, 2x now a "scary" looking guy according to her has been standing at the top of the stairs looking down to her, and he doesn't say anything to her just eventually walks away. So I took it upon myself to call the landlord and tell him about what was going on and told him we were looking for other places and would be moving if they were going to stay. My landlord is kicking them out they have to be gone 6-25-07. I told my roommate that downstairs is bigger and cooler than upstairs. SHe origionally said she wuld want to live down there. Now that we have the opportunity she says, "I've been thinking that they have a lot of cats down there and that the landlord will have to rip up all the carpet and put in new carpet cause my cat will go crazy when she smells the other cats." Is this not dumb?
