Would this be considered kidnapping?
My daughter is almost one year old, and I'd like to take her out to meet my side of the family. she lives close to the mothers family, mine is about 2000 miles away. i'm about to deploy to afgan, and i just finished my block leave. the wife told me if i couldn';t go during this leave to take my daughter, i could go during my mid tour leave. I hope she keeps up her side of the bargin, but in the instance she changes her mind, i have a feeling she is going to say no. because she is super protective of the child (which i can be grateful for to an extent) she doesn't want my daughter to go without her with her. I don't care if the mother is there, but if she can't go because of work or school, i feel i have the right to take my child with out her. because of stupid stuff i won't get into detail with, i had just got my name placed on the birth certificate finally, so now i'm officially her father legally and biologically. me and the wife are married, not seperated. so if i come home for mid-tour leave, and she says she can't go, and i decide wone morning to wake up and just take my daughter on a place and go to my family with her, leave a note and everything, can i still be charged with kidnapping or something? its not a route i want to go, but i have a feeling something is going to come up and she's gonna try and keep me from taking my baby home for a week or two.
