Panasonic dot matrix printer KX-p2023?

i have connected it with a usb/ parallel cable. i have vista ultimate(which is supposed to have the driver,but doesnt seem to. ive downloaded the driver from panasonic (i think). the printer shows up in the printer page as ready to go but will not print. the printer will work offline and prints a perfect test page. can anyone help.
