Gen4 glock is illegal in ca? if so, when will it be legal in ca?

i've been told by the gun dealer that gen 4 glock is illegal in ca. i was pissed because i like the gen 4 better than gen 3 glock. is glock co. try to get this gun approve at any point? around December maybe? any info on that?
