Blackberry Curve 8310 keeps shutting off?

4 times today I have taken my phone out of the case it came with(I use it every day) and the screen was black. The only solution was to remove the battery. I've already gone through 3 of these phones and my contract has a long time to go. Help would be appreciated. Also, I'm not technologically literate. Thanks!
